Why Winter Makes Me Look Like I Have No Sense of Fashion

I love everything in Fashion, from (some) brands to accessories to the making of clothing to judging other’s outfits. The latter being my national sport.
However, winter always makes me look like I know nothing about fashion, or remotely anything about dressing nicely. You can catch me wearing the winter basics, such as a puffy coat, winter boots, gloves, a scarf and a hat. Alright, so far, this doesn’t sound bad right? Why the hell is this bitch complaining you may think. Well, it just gets better.
The outfit gets way less “cute” when you know that my face is basically covered up by my scarf, my hat is pulled to the lowest possible point which hides my brows and makes me look angry, my hood is pulled up and my winter boots are of a dull grey color. A beautiful addition to all of this are leg warmers, not worn at the ankles like it’s supposed to, but stretched out to their maximum length to cover the most possible. Why didn’t I think of wearing leggings underneath my jeans instead? Well I did think of that smartypants, except that as a student that has to sit in a classroom filled with 500 other students for at least an hour, you end up dying in heat.

Sounds a little extreme, but I get chilly very easily and the winter wind can be harsh on skin, especially when you’re out walking for a while. On days that are less cold or has less snow, I’ll ditch the leg warmers, lower the scarf, lower the hood and take out my basic bitch Timberlands.

People I’ve always admired are those who manage to wear the bare minimum in the cold, no hats no scarves. Such sacrifice for keeping hair gel intact. Are you one of them? Doesn’t your brain freeze or something? What else I find incredible are those who survive walking in the winter streets of Montreal in heels, because let me tell you, when the ground is iced over, you can slip and die. I may be exaggerating just a tad.
In the end, I probably look like an angry bundle of clothing, but at least I’m warm and at bay of death.
Do you look like a bundle just as I do? Or are you able to brave the cold? If so, let me know how you do it, because I simply CANNOT for the life of me understand it. Tell me all your secrets. Send me a DM on my Insta or my Facebook Page ! 🌹
